About the Matrix Cascading Options

There are two options to cascading your matrix

Resource Focused

  • A matrix is created for each resource with at least one black dot.

  • All the north items black dotted to the resource will appear on the same matrix.

If your matrix is more departmental/plant focused... meaning that each resource is the head of a department/division/plant... this is the better option.

Example:  Anne is the plant leader in Arizona and has multiple north priorities assigned to the plant.  Anne will have a single L2 matrix with those priorities in the west area.

Priority Focused

  •  A matrix is created for each North Priority

  • If a North Priority has multiple owners... a separate matrix will be created for each one.

If your matrix is priority focused ... meaning that reviews will be done by priority rather than departments or plants.  This is a better option.

Example:  The organization has 5 North Priorities that are complex in nature.  2 of the Priorities are owned by the same individual, however it would not make sense for them to be combined on one matrix.
